Our free brake inspection is ideal for those that may have concerns about the safety or performance of their braking system. Or, you may have recently purchased a used vehicle and want peace of mind that your brakes are up to the job. If so, contact one of our helpful Service Adviser's on 01256 355 855 or Book Online.
So what do we check?
After we have carried out a brake performance test on one of our "state of the art" VOSA approved fully computerised rolling roads we will then check the following:
- Front and rear brake pad / shoe thickness
- Front and rear brake disc / drum condition
- Parking brake operation
- Parking brake cable(s)
- Brake servo operation
- Brake fluid condition
- Flexible brake hose and metal brake pipe(s)
- Brake hydraulics
- Brake lights
If repair or replacement of parts are required, a no-obligation quote will be provided. All our work is guaranteed for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever is sooner.
We are also an official partner of the Pagid Professional 'Proud To Fit' Brake system repair programme and a registered installer.
Please note: It may not be possible to inspect the rear brake shoes on some vehicles without causing damage to the brake drums or wheel bearings. If this is the case with your car we will visually check the thickness through the rear brake drum "spy holes" (if present) or advise that further investigation is required.
Also note: If during any brake disassembly, the brakes are found in a dangerous condition, you are under no obligation to instruct us to repair the vehicle. However, we will ask you to sign a disclaimer and advise you the vehicle must not be used on the road and is only removed from site by a recovery service (AA or RAC) to comply with the law.
