We first opened with our site at Essex Road which has been trading now for over 20 years. In 1997 when a major investment was made on modern equipment, staff training and computerisation to keep up with modern day cars & the name changed to Basingstoke Autocentre. Popularity resulted following many developments & increased to such a size that a new site was sought in 2002. This resulted in the opening of our Lennox Road MOT & TYRE Centre, after further success we were pleased to open our third site, Wade Road MOT & TYRE Centre. In April 2011 we opened our fourth site, Basingstoke Value Tyres, in response to growing customer requests for budget tyres due to the recession.

There are no different prices offered - everyone pays the same, just like Tesco! There is only one tyre price we quote - the cheapest one! If you only need one tyre, that's all we will sell you. We even offer a money back guarantee on tyres.

Why are our MOT Tests only £30? Because we specialise in MOT testing & have such a high throughput (approx 60 MOT tests per day!) we don’t need to charge any more than that! Though you only pay £30 for an MOT this does not mean you are getting a different quality MOT than a more expensive one.
Most garages charge over £45 for MOT test’s & may offer you free items such as wiper blades & light bulbs, but why pay an extra £15 - £20 per MOT when you probably don’t need wiper blades or light bulbs – why not just pay for what you need? Currently 1 in 6 cars require a light bulb, 1 in 12 require a wiper blade or small adjustment. It's cheaper to pay only for what you need or what your car requires.

There are many benefits of being a multi site independent, not being tied to any one supplier, and being able to change supplier if prices rise, not having to run hugely expensive TV advertising campaigns, so passing on the savings to you the customer.

All our MOT testers are trained, authorised & regulated by the government body VOSA (The Vehicle Operator & Services Agency). Therefore – any MOT carried out is done independently of the garage by one of our nominated tester who has been approved to do so by the MOT governing body! Our nominated testers & the testing station have at least 3 unannounced spot checks per year & these will include a mystery shopper.

For the more complicated Diagnostic / Electrical repair work you may require - we can also offer Basingstoke Autocentre who provide MOT testing and all associated garage repair work, servicing, brakes, clutches, batteries, computer diagnostics, engine diagnostics, and also able to specialise in the more complicated bigger repairs as staff are older and more experienced, and technicians are trained to a higher technical level. As a higher level of skill and experience is required at Basingstoke Autocentre a ratio of apprentices to mechanics is never more than one to one.

All our tyres are purchased in the UK, EU approved & are fully guaranteed. If there are any defects due to faulty workmanship or materials, we promise to replace the tyre for a brand new one (regardless of remaining tread depth & mileage covered) free of charge for up to three years.

As a company operating in the motor vehicle repair industry, we take environmental issues very seriously and as such we pay over £1.00 for the environmental disposal of each waste tyre. We are licensed to store oil & oil filters on site for future recycling & pay for every used oil filter to be properly disposed of. Every litre of oil used is stored on-site until it goes for recycling. We have recently purchased two environmentally friendly company vans that do close to 100 miles to the gallon (MPG).
